The national bird of New Zealand is the Kiwi.
Kiwis live in the ground, are almost blind, lay just one egg each year, and can’t fly. And yet, this endangered species has managed to survive for more than 70 million years. (Yes, all you silly Young Earth Creationists—70 million years!)

This adorable five-week-old polar bear is being hand-reared at the Nuremberg Zoo in Germany. Her name means “flake,” as in “snowflake.”
According to TimesOnline, zookeepers took Flocke away from her mother, because mom kept dropping her on the hard rock floor. They were also afraid Flocke would suffer the same fate as two other baby bears, [...]
