I’m a huge fan of Reuter’s:Oddly Enough and all the other “strange-but-true” sites scattered about the ‘net. I often save my favorite stories for future reference, and intended to write a blog post showcasing some of the really weird stuff going on in the world. But, since I haven’t gotten around to doing it yet, [...]

I’ve received some flack for my post, regarding the murder of Karim Rashid Ata-Ayi, in which I said, as an alleged perpetrator of violence himself, Ata-Ayi “reaped what he sowed.”
I did not say he deserved to die (as one commenter suggested), only that his less-than-upstanding lifestyle, seemingly, led to his untimely demise.

Well, it’s about time!
The Ontario government will, finally, be regulating driver’s ed.
According to a report in the Toronto Star, Ontario’s Transportation Minister announced yesterday that driving instructors will no longer be licensed to teach, if they have any Criminal Code convictions or demerit points on their driving record.
Duh!
Apparently, “360 of Ontario’s 5,500 instructors have demerit [...]

I read today that another son of Toronto activist, Patricia Wynter, was shot to death.
In 2001, Wynter (along with 17 others who’d lost sons to violence) formed the organization UMOVE: United Mothers Opposing Violence Everywhere, after her first-born son, 25-year-old Chad Wynter, was murdered.
Now, her second son, 29-year-old, Karim Rashid Ata-Ayi, is also dead. [...]

For instance, teachers leading a children’s choir at an Ottawa, Canada school removed the word “Christmas” [...]

According to The Record.com, Trevor La Pierre, heard “voices of demons,” and kept an online journal on purewave.com.
“I don’t think anyone actually knows just how evil I am going to be,” he wrote in a February, 2007 posting.
And this: “Take me as far away from Earth as possible. I’m on the verge of committing terrible [...]
